Hello, Benny and I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Benoit for the first time at this appt. A little history… in 2024 we were looking for a non-VCA clinic and yours was recommended by Irene Rogozinski, Bambi’s mom. We had the good fortune to meet Amy, whose approach we really appreciated. We, as you do already, will miss her. However, I found Kevin’s approach to be similar to Amy’s. A lot of questions, listening, and a common sense review and suggestions, without jumping to a necessity for a battery of diagnostic testing. Granted, Benny’s problem probably did not present as critical and Kevin’s projected outcome was correct, and this Sunday morning, Benny is doing great. So thank you for your service. Hugo & I love that he received care from an entire team of competent compassionate humans, who connected & cared for Hugo like the little individual idiosyncratic kitty-being he is. I feel he was recognized as a singular tomcat; it sounds weird but it feels like they looked for + “got” + respected his singular-ness & personality. That really moved me. I trusted the humans & Hugo seemed to trust them too, as much as any cat getting an IV can. Hugo let them touch his paws & claws! Highest honour! I adopt older rescue cats, so this isn’t my first time getting the hardest news, but I know that I can trust our Companion team to give me the best palliative guidance — straightforward but sensitive, respecting his quality of life & our ability to cover services, so we can make the best decisions for our family (our family = Hugo + me) — to make Hugo’s time with us as comfortable as possible for as long as possible, arm me with information to navigate decisions about his care, & to give him the peaceful love-circled heart-held passing this cat I’m honoured to know deserves. Companion picked the best name for their practice. Wonderful people for your wonderful Beasts!
